Electragram has been in the works since early 2018, even before I started Air Mail. The first version of the app was Graydon’s idea and we worked together to make it a reality over a few weeks. The idea was simple: elegant personal communication with and old-school flair of design. The telegram for the digital era. We created a simple tool for personal communications, then paused to begin our work on Air Mail.
In 2022, we hired my friends at GoodFolks to build us a prototype and “MVP” for the Electragram concept. This version of the app is live and being used by our customers at electragram.com.
The MVP was a success–in that we realized that the real potential for this product was to design and build it for businesses, not direct to consumers.
In late 2023, and through most of 2024, I created the next version of Electragram. This was a ground-up rebuild based on everything we had learned over the prior five years of working on this venture. We're working with our beta partners now, and will be opening up the app for public use later this year.
